It is our great pleasure to communicate with you . As you know that our PICT-SITM has become PICT-STM now and with this new start we had lots of activities in the institute which we want share with you in the form of NEWS BULLETIN.
AICTE APPROVAL
PICT-STM at the new campus at Mhalunge (near the Balewadi Sports Stadium) is an approved institute of All Indian Council of Technical Education (AICTE). Our PGDM program is approved by AICTE and considered equivalent to MBA.
1. Celebration of Gurupournima
This academic year started with benevolent celebration of Gurupournima. In the very 2nd week of July i.e. on 15th July our newly entered PGDM batch celebrated this ceremony with the presence of Mrs. Nandita Khaire who was the guest of honor.
The total management of this event was done by PGDM 1 students Anupam Kayastha & Snehal Bhagat under the guidance of marketing faculty, Mr. Amol Dhaygude.

2. 15th August Jubilation
We all celebrated our 64th Independence Day with hoisting of flag in the institute, after that we had Speeches & Dance performances on the patriotism theme on the eve of 15th August.

3. Teachers Day along with annual Cultural program
This time celebration of teacher's day was double as it was attached with cultural relation between teachers & students.

4. Navaratri Mahotsav
For the first time in the history of our institute we celebrated Navaratri festival with traditional garbha night alongwith all the faculty on 1st October. This was the most chromatic celebration.

5. Coffee at PICT STM
Yes, we have started this cheerful activity in our Institute where we have informal discussions with our alumni as well as with corporate guests with having a cup of coffee. In this activity our alumni Ms. Jaslene Bawa was our first guest on 12th November.

6. Children's Day Celebration
In the morning of 14th November we celebrated Children's Day with Zilla Parishad School's Children which is located at Mahalunge, near to our Institute. We celebrated this event under the guidance of our Human Resource faculty, Ms. Mamta Tammewar.

7. Formation Of Film Club
It is our great honor & pleasure to tell you that we formed film club in our institute on 19th November. In film club we will have screening of world classic films, Social & Informative Documentaries & post screening discussion on the film or documentary. The opening film of this film club was the Iranian film "Children of Heaven" which is directed by Majid Majidi.
Our Director Mr. Kumar sir inaugurated this Film club & PGDM 1 students Aditya Kamtekar, Archana Bhoot, Vrushali Belawade, Mrunmayee Kulkarni & Pratik Shelar have taken responsibility to run this activity successfully.

8. Induction Program
We had induction program for our students from 1st July to 31 July. In Induction program we had guest faculties along with our alumni to guide us regarding practical corporate business ethics. Following are some of them-

COVENTRY UNIVERSITY NEWS
Our association with the well known Coventry University, Uk- with its roots that can be traced as far back as 1843 is a live example of the quest for convergence of knowledge. In September 2011, Academic Partnership member, Lawrence Dsouza of Coventry university visited our institute for discussions.

1. Formation of groups
Being PGDM students we all are considered to be good potential managers of the future in the corporate world. So to get habitual of those activities we already began to work in teams like corporate word. So we formed following groups within the PGDM 2011-12 batch:
- Seminar & Workshop group (Empower Group)
- Placement Group
- Cultural, Sports & Event Group (Team Galvanizers)
2. Seminar on digital marketing
As all of us know today Digital Marketing is the need of time. So our seminar & workshop group (Group Empower) organized seminar on digital marketing on 17th September by Mr. Sanjay Limaye sir who has worked extensively in business processes like Advertising & Publicity, Channel management, B2B, E-commerce.
3. Success of the student
From the very first batch of PICT STM Ms. Bhakti Sontakke has achieved phenomenal success that her research paper Corporate Social Responsibility: Education Development is accepted in 3rd International Conference on Corporate Governance in Asia (28 29 November, 2011) organized by ONGC Subir Raha Chair on Corporate Governance Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad & Universiti Tun Abdul Razak, Kuala Lumpur.

Social Responsibility
Along with academics our institute has taken a small initiative towards social responsibility that is to teach students of Zilla Parishad Primary School, Mahalunge, Pune. Under Center of Learning Resources (CLR Program) by All India radios program our students teach English to 4th standard children under guidance of Ms. Mamta Tammewar Madam (Faculty of Institute) 4 times in a week. & Basic computer knowledge is also given to students from 5th standard to 7th standard on every Saturday in our Institution only.

Currently we are working on two major projects-

- Film on PICT-STM for branding
1. C-DAC project
Our Institution is working on a project with C-DAC, Pune on Consumer Usage Survey.
2. Film on PICT-STM for Branding
We are making one film for showcasing our institute's values, PICT-STM as a brand. It is under process which is being made by professionals of Film and Television Institute of India is expected to complete in couple of weeks.
